Litigation Paralegal/Legal Secretary

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Litigation Paralegal/Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team and work in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process, ensuring that all documentation is meticulously prepared and maintained. This position includes traditional paralegal tasks, as well as administrative functions such as creating discovery shells, maintaining up to date electronic files, calendaring and State and Federal court filings. Federal is mandatory.


Responsibilities

  • At least 10 years' litigation (no Personal Injury) experience as a paralegal and/or legal secretary

  • Litigation skills and in-depth knowledge of general filing and calendaring procedures in Federal and State court

  • Knowledge of legal terminology, legal and court procedures, e-filings, docket and records management

  • Practical knowledge of timekeeping, client billing, A/R responsibilities and expense reimbursement procedures

  • Exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Adobe is a must, including the use of styles and the creation and formatting of pleadings and other documents, including appeals briefs, and tables of contents and authorities

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people of varying skills, responsibilities, and backgrounds

  • Exceptional grammar, spelling, redlining and proofreading skills

Skills

  • Strong proof reading skills with attention to detail

  • Proficient with federal and state filings and procedures

  • Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures, particularly regarding Tribal law regulations

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining high-quality work standards

  • Strong project management skills that facilitate efficient workflow within the legal team

  • Capable of providing executive administrative support as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Benefits: Hybrid remote, 3 days in our brand new office building located at McArthur and Jamboree in Irvine
